Update: This game has become one of my most popular freebies. I can’t say that I’m surprised. It’s because we all need human connection and it can be hard to create authentic experiences out of thin air. There’s something about playing a game that makes it okay for us to let down our shield and play by someone else’s rules for a bit. We’re so rigid with our own rules; “don’t speak unless you have something interesting to say,” “make a good impression,” “don’t make a mistake.” And those rules just keep us one step removed from what we really want and need–connection.
Games give us needed permission to not be right all the time, to take a risk and see what happens, and to laugh at ourselves. This game will release the pressure valve on your party by asking everyone to play a character (so no pressure to make a great impression), and to act out silly situations everyone can relate to.

I love Christmas party group games. Everyone is in a great mood because–well, it’s Christmas! And group games seem to bring out the jolly in all of us, which is why this new party game is so much fun. Everyone gets in on the fun with this hilarious new game of Christmas Improv, “If the Hat Fits.”
Christmas isn’t the same without these great Christmas Crafts!
It’s simple to play. Just pick one card from the “If the Hat Fits” deck of cards. This will tell you what character you’re going to play. Pick another card from the “Set the Scene” deck. This tells you what scene you’re acting out. Then you choose someone from the audience (your family and friends) to be your acting partner. That’s when the fun begins! Following the improvisation rule, “never say no”, the scene will take hilarious twists and turns. The funnier the scene, the better, because the audience gives you points based on how quick you were on your feet.
Of course, in the end it’s all fun and games because in this game the points don’t matter!
